IS REIKI AGAINST MY RELIGION?

No! Certain religions, particularly some traditions of Christianity, practice faith-healing that also involves laying hands on people. It is easy to assume that Reiki is therefore the same thing under a different name. Reiki however, though it has spiritual principles, is not itself a religion. It does not involve calling on any spirit, angel or deity, but instead involves directing a naturally occurring energy generated by all living beings. The meditations and exercises expected of Reiki practitioners are for the purpose of strengthening their ability to direct this energy, they are not acts of worship.

 

The principles of Reiki are compatible with all six major world religions. Reiki is meant to be used in addition to your religion, not to be an alternative. It is a healing technique, not a religious practice. Muslim Women in particular, or any women treated by a male practitioner are welcome to have a non-contact version of Reiki and/or a chaperone of their choice present.

 

CAN I LEARN TO PRACTISE REIKI MYSELF?
